Permissions detailing who is allowed access to various resources, such as Web pages and data, are assigned via the NetCrusader Commander tool and stored in the permissions store. An administrator also assigns group membership and user attributes to individual users. 2. When a user requests access to a Web page, the NetCrusader/Web Security Adapter looks in the permissions store to determine if authorization is required. If so, the user's credentials are sent from the security server to the Security Adapter, which grants or denies access depending on user's predefined level of authorization. 3. Advanced scripts can dynamically construct Web pages and return specific, personalized information to a user based on the user's identity and credentials 4. On behalf of end users, Web servers can be used to initiate requests to business applications on back-end CORBA servers, which apply the same authorization process and support personalization features.
